Arthur Draper was born in New York in 1909 and enlisted in the Army in Albany, N.Y. in 1942. At the time of enlistment he was married and working in a professional capacity. Draper joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to Company D of the 86th Infantry Regiment, later with the Headquarters of the 3rd Battalion Medical Division of the 86th Infantry.
